Brand new  solo release by Antoine Chessex, FOOLS presents studio material recorded in 2008  in Berlin.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about Chessex is his ability to take a single instrument —a tenor saxophone— and seamlessly move between the hallmarks of musical genres that many others simply get stuck in.

As an immersive journey into the physicality of sounds, FOOLS features phasing microtonal explorations of time and space, dense layers of harsh electrified explosions, deep droning textures and moments of ecstatic sound poetry screamed into the mouthpiece. Wall of sounds, abrupt ruptures and fragile static tension coexisitng to create a varied and intense piece of challenging music.

Chessex created a  highly personal work, pushing  the tenor saxophone into unique territories and revealing a dedicated personnality for sonic research and experimentations.

Expertly recorded and mastered by Rashad Becker.  Full colors artwork provided by the great Lasse Marhaug.

Chessex is involved internationaly with experimental music since more than a decade. His sonic researches range from compositions for ensembles towards solo performances and collaborations with fellow artists like Lasse Marhaug, Zbigniew Karkowski, C. Spencer Yeh, Chris Corsano, Valerio Tricoli, Axel Dörner, Robin Hayward, Lucio Capece and Monno.
